Sports bowling, or no sports bowling, or no bowling at all. At a time when bowling establishments are closing in epidemic numbers the industry beleives that the introduction of a new and challenging lane condition is going to jump start the business to a new level of profits and at the same time improve basic bowlers skills. Ok,so let me inform you of what I,ve observed over the past 3 years. League particiapation has declined each year. As far as improving the bowler himself or herself it hasn't. What I have noticed is that the bowler has made some adjustment to his style of bowling.Most bowlers now are lofting the ball 5 to 7 feet or more down the lane to over come this new lane condition.The game has turned into the WWF of bowling. The lane conditions are worse than ever because of the scuff marks and dimples on the bowling surface.This makes the ball roll eratic.The ball no longer goes into the slide,roll,hook. This condition its self tells the bowler that throwing the ball threw the air and on the bounce is the right thing to do. Personally if it were my bowling establishment I would ban this style of bowling and reintroduce bowling as it were. THE RULES , what ever happened to respect and mannerism at the bowling lanes.I remember it as a place where you were on you best behavoir and you picked up your garbage afterwards.Nowadays the customer can't wait to get out of the place and try and forget how baldly he or she bowled. We would go out on Saturday nites and bowl with all our new bowling friends that we met durung the year or previous tears and have a great time of it.But nomore ,everyone is in such a hurry to go nowhere. Bowlers today are just not enjoying the game very much and are thinking about finding other activities to fulfill there need for enjoyment and comfort. I hope the bossman on top knows what he,s doing for the game,I would not like to see this Great American Past Time come to an end.
